Today is NOT Show Day- The First SRS Vlog!

I didn’t fall off the face of the Earth- I’m still here! After months and months of brushing it off when people have suggested I start a YouTube channel, I gave it a try today.

It’s nothing fancy- I have very few video editing skills, so, it’s just me talking. Like a spoken blog post, I suppose.

Anyhow, maybe this is something I’ll explore further. Unless you all hate it. Then I’ll go back to writing as usual. I mean, I’ll be writing anyhow, but maybe sometimes I’ll also record some stuff. I’m still feeling it out. Let me know what you think in the comments- critical commentary welcome! If you love it, feel free to thumbs up and subscribe. If you hate it, please let me know not to waste my time and just keep on typing!

  1. You are so articulate and intelligent! I thoroughly enjoyed this and it offered insight into the show prep world and what it’s like to balance working. Incredibly thought provoking!

    1. Thank you so much! Finding a balance has been a challenge for sure, and often it means having to reassess my priorities and let one part take a backseat for a while. Difficult, but ultimately worth it to have a bit of everything in my life.

  2. Candid discussion of motivation and the challenges of staying ‘on’ all the time – glad you were able to find the balance before it impacted you too badly. If you decide to keep up the video posts, you may want to check out Brian Alsruhe’s channel – it’s a solid mix of training/contest prep logging, general lifting info and the occasional “why we do this” post – might provide some ideas for style and content (it’s kind of about “just be yourself”)

    1. Thanks for the rec! I’m definitely trying to place how I’ll use this medium- I’m thinking video lends itself really well to personal anecdote- like prep check-ins and such, and I’ll keep my more informative posts to written, as I always have, so they’re easier to reference and insert links to properly.
